In so many ways, this has been a whirlwind year.
Little Ivy was born in May.
Having a grandbaby is amazing, especially since I still can't believe I survived having my OWN babies! I now know just how fast babies grow up, and I'm treasuring each moment with this little one.
We took some family photos a few weeks ago....notice who is at the center of attention while we prep? Yes....Ivy steals the show, and rightfully so!
Lauren, Robert and Ivy. Settling into life as a family of three has meant sleepless nights and plenty of adjusting, but I think they feel it is worth it. :)
Meghan and Nathan have been married for two years now. Meghan teaches music at an elementary school, and Nathan both teaches and is a worship pastor.
I'm pretty sure Grayson hates for me to call him "my baby," but since he doesn't read my blog I'm just going to go ahead and call him that. My baby is half way through his second year of college. Somehow he got some extra math genes and is making his way through aerospace engineering at A&M.
We like to gross him out every now and then by smooching in front of him. C'mon, it's good for you, son.
First we tried this family pose but agreed it was a little awkward with all the girls sitting down in front. But the trees are lovely behind us.
This one is just slightly out of focus but we are all generally looking in the right direction, except for the baby, but that's what babies do.
I love these people!
The year has ended with some exciting things happening with my book. It seems that Flash is stealing hearts right and left! Sshhh...I've accepted a publishing offer and will make an official announcement sometime after Christmas.
Sometimes opportunity shows up looking like a mangy, flea-bitten donkey, and I nearly missed it in the chaos of raising this family and trying to keep the wheels on. How like God to throw a curve ball right at the end, and surprise us with His amazing grace and joy.
I've never been more aware of God's purpose in our struggles. I have this guy to thank for teaching me some important lessons along the way.
Merry Christmas, my dear friends! I will be back after the holidays for another year of creating Sanctuary at home with you. My heart is for creating a place of refuge for the people you love, and that has never changed. I can't wait to share some of the things on my mind for 2014! Please say you'll join me!
With love,
Rachel Anne
