Clutter is the number one housekeeping struggle. Let's face it: We have too much stuff ("crappola") and we need to do something with it.
You can store it, organize it and pack it away to make it look better, but the truth is if you're constantly fighting clutter, yep, you probably just have TOO MUCH stuff.
GUILTY! I'M SO GUILTY!
Today's Small Thing is to follow the old nursery rhyme, "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and fill three bags with stuff to get rid of.
Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full.
One for my master,
One for my dame,
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane.
Three bags - sounds like a lot, but once you get started you'll have a hard time stopping at three. But please do....stop. We don't really have time for a major haul today, do we?
Now, you can choose what to fill them with:
- things to throw away
- things to give away
And you can choose the size of bag:
- a grocery sack
- kitchen trash bag (13 gal)
- a giant 33 gallon trash bag
Choices! You have so much power.
Now if this job intimidates you, simply start small. Take three LITTLE grocery bags and start in one room, putting in the obvious clutter that can be thrown or given away. Don't overthink it, just do it. If an item makes you pause for too long, just keep it until next time and move on.
Work quickly, sing a nursery rhyme and fill three bags today! Get your kids to pitch in if you'd like!
Tell me your "three bag" story: did your find enough to fill them? Did you stop at three? Were you tempted to keep going? Hey, don't overdo...just three is all you need.
PS Mary Ann....today's photo is for you. :)
