First off: DID YOU CONSOLIDATE STUFF YESTERDAY?? You have a few more minutes (until 8 am CST) to shoot me an email with your totals. I've been digging around my studio and have a nice little prize for our winner.....I'll announce our winner and reveal the prize tomorrow. :)
The story is told of a man who gave more information than necessary on a health insurance claim form.
Apparently, the man had broken his arm and was treated at the hospital with the necessary gamut of X-rays, and his arm was placed in a cast. Faced with the claim forms, he dutifully filled in his name, address and policy number, hospital information, health history, relatives, blood type, attending physician and date of the incident.

Then he came to the blank which read: "Please describe the cause of accident."
He thought for a moment and then wrote his answer:
"Fell off dresser while trying to see my hemorrhoids in the mirror."
Man, I love that joke! Cracks me up every time!!
Today's Small Thing has to do with filling in blanks, but you might have to think a moment yourself as to which blanks to fill in.
Our lives are dotted with all kinds of forms and papers that require filling out information. Bank accounts, health insurance forms, school permission slips, voter registration cards, subscriptions....well, you know what I mean. I get writer's cramp just thinking about it.
Sometimes the tasks that I put off the most are the ones that aren't so much hard as they are tedious.
- Like balancing a checkbook--LOTS of blanks, there!
- Or updating information for a directory.
- Or adding names and addresses to my contact list.
- Or filling in family birthdays on the calendar.
- Or making a menu plan.
Do you have a few minutes to fill in some blanks today? Think about the stack of papers on your desk. Is there a subscription to a magazine that just needs your address and a stamp? A car insurance renewal? A rebate offer that's about to expire? Today is a good day to get some bills put online...and all it will take is a few minutes to fill in the fields on the screen. If you are REAL creative, you could fill in the blanks in your photo albums or memory books.
Give yourself a pat on the back for filling in the blanks in your life...at least some of the ones on paper!
