First, Our Prize from yesterday's drawing:
It was awesome to read all the different verses that ya'll are working on yesterday! I had this vision of the Word being spoken - all different scriptures - in many voices, all over the world. Imagine our little group of women and multiply it a million times to all the believers on the earth who are speaking God's Word, day and night, and what that Word is doing! It is changing lives, moving "impossible situations," and setting people free.
The winner of the Keeplets Bracelet is: Shonda! Thank you so much for joining in....I know you're going to love having this fashionable little tool on your wrist, especially after I re-read your comment! God must be speaking to you in a big way, huh? Email me with your address and I'll send it out to you.
Now, Our Small Thing: Running Over, or as the deep southerners say, "Runnin' Ovah"
It's weekend time, which in the summer time, means more of the same except messier. Perhaps you've been spending your days spreading sunscreen on little bodies, fixing endless snacks, wiping up melted popcicles and putting bandaids on skinned knees. You've hardly had a moment to think straight, let alone tidy up the house. Honestly, there is only so much a woman can do in a day. I support you, girl.
Thankfully, Today's Small Thing is not much more than a couple minutes' worth of effort. You see, sometimes the difference between sanity and the looney bin is just a quick "run over." You need not clean the house top to bottom in order to come back from the brink, but a fast lick of a couple of the main spots will have you breathing easy in no time.
What do I mean? The following should be said in your best southern accent: "Runnin' ovah." (Really drag out that "ruuun" and you'll have it.)
Run a vacuum ovah the carpet. Hittin' the traffic areas and living room takes less than five minutes.
Run a dishcloth ovah the kitchen counter. In two minutes, the crumbs are gone and you're dancing.
Run a dustcloth ovah the coffeetable. 30 seconds to happy.
Run some water ovah the dishes for a presoak.
Run the toys ovah to the kids' rooms. Get the kids to do this one.
Run a broom ovah the floor. Yep, another kid task.
For goodness sake, run a comb ovah your haih. No sense lookin like you got drug through a knot hole.
When you do a run over, you aren't worried about getting every last bit cleaned and polished. It is a quick primp that brings a feeling of sanctuary instead of chaos, makes your children behave better, and puts mama in a very good mood indeed. Why, you'll be ovah the moon, honey.
