Big events, like dinner parties, anniversaries and holidays, can be overwhelming when you think about all the things involved in pulling them off. And if you leave all the tasks until the last minute, it can be a recipe for disaster.
I'll be honest and tell you that my Christmas ship is heading for disaster - that is, if I continue on the course I've been on, which is not to think about it at all. With so many other things going on recently, I've had the "I'll think about that tomorrow" attitude that suddenly doesn't seem very brilliant anymore.
Today's Small Thing is to take a look at (or create) your master Christmas "To Do" list and hop on at least one of the tasks to get it done!
Most of you are prolly waaay ahead of me this December, and are sitting there with your entire list checked off: presents wrapped, cards mailed, decorations up and peanut brittle tied up in packages for your kids' teachers. Well, the rest of us may be lagging far behind, but we are going to hop to it today!
Your master list should include gift lists, food lists, parties and events, special clothes your family might need to purchase or pull together, and preparation tasks. Jotting everything in one place will help you see exactly where you are and what is left to do. Instead of getting overwhelmed by it all, simply "hop to it!" Check at least one thing off your master list.
See, Christmas hops are fun! What task are you hoppin' in today?
