Have you ever noticed that the gorgeous homes in magazines all have one detail in common?
You never see any electrical cords.
It's like all their lamps are powered by magic.
While I search for where to sign up for THAT power company, I must deal with the real-world issue of messy electrical cords.
Many houses are designed by monkeys who have no idea that conveniently placed outlets are a real necessity, and my house is no exception. I have entire walls with no outlets on them, which means I have to run unsightly extension cords to lamps and other things that don't run on mystical power.
Today's Small Thing is to tidy up the electrical cords in your house. It could be as simple as this:
Before: Very un-magazine like.
After: I pulled the cords to an outlet behind the bed. EASY!
Or, you could tie-wrap cords that are too long into a neater solution.
Maybe all you need to do is tuck a cord along a baseboard or rearrange a lamp to make the cords less noticeable. The tangle of cords that run your computer system may be too much to face on a Monday morning, but you might think about taking 10 minutes and crawling under your desk to see what kind of disaster lurks under there. My computer cords resemble a plate of spaghetti, but I think I could organize them quite easily today.
