I had a crazy busy day yesterday...I scurried out the door to a day full of working on signs and graphics for a church in Ft. Worth. And in the flurry of loading stuff into the car and finishing paperwork and getting breakfast and feeding the dog...the kitchen had that "post-tornado" look that was just unsettling, to say the least. I was not in a good mood.
That's when I did one little bitty thing that changed my whole dark outlook on life in that moment. It was as if someone had sprinkled fairy dust on me and miraculously lifted my spirits. Simply by doing this little thing.
I straightened the chairs around the table.
Yep, that's all I did.
OK, not quite true. I also took the coats and purses that were draped over them and hung them on the hallway hooks.
But it all STARTED with those four chairs that went from "sloppy" to "neat" in 10 seconds.
Suddenly, my kitchen was transformed....er, at least PART of it was. The fairy dust didn't actually travel over to the breakfast dishes, but those straightened chairs made the room look so Pulled Together! It gave me the courage to load the dishwasher.
Today's Small Thing doesn't get any smaller, folks. It is to straighten your kitchen chairs or barstools. Oh, mercy, if the FlyLady knew how easy things were over here, she'd be ashamed. But I don't care.
That's why they're called "Small, Little Bitty, Teeny Tiny Things!"
POINTS: 10 per chair you straighten up around a table - kitchen, dining room, counter...no limit.
Song of the Day: Little Bitty, Alan Jackson - of course
