Over the years, I've seen several versions of "Mom's Household Rules."
* If you get it out, put it up.
* If you sleep on it, make it up.
* If you wear it, hang it up.
* If you drop it, pick it up.
* If you dirty it, wash it.
* If you open it, close it.
* If you turn it on, turn it off.
* If it rings, answer it.
* If it barks, feed it.
* If it cries, love it.
That pretty much sums up most of the household issues in a neat little nutshell. I should have posted this up 20 years ago - think how much easier my life would have been! Oh, the regret.
Today's Small Thing is simply to work on that first rule: If you get it out, put it up.
Mondays are great "pick up" days......the weekend clutter that we were too tired to deal with on Sunday night can be dealt with in one mighty effort on Monday if we just put our minds to it. Take a few minutes per room and just pick up what's been left out - and then continue picking up whatever you take out today.
POINTS: 40 for picking up stuff already left out (remember, you can enlist help!)
BONUS POINTS: 30 for picking up as you go today
