Yesterday there were multiple tornadoes that hit in the north Texas area, with a couple of them striking within miles of my home. It is sometimes pretty scary living in "tornado alley," the part of the country that experiences the most tornadoes. My prayers are with the people who lost homes and businesses yesterday....it is awful to think that everything can be gone in a second.
One thing that always amazes me is how the path of a tornado leaves such a wake of destruction, but often skips a house or flattens one and not another. From the aerial view you can see exactly where it left its mark.
It got me to thinking about the "tornado alleys" in my house: the wakes of destruction that follow us as we tear through the house on our way to an activity, change clothes or arrive from somewhere. We drop debris like cyclones! Sometimes our paths are random in nature, but often you can see exactly where we've been - even without an aerial view.
Today's Small Thing is to clear the tornado damage inside your house.
If your little cyclones-in-tennis-shoes are like mine, they've got a wide swath of mayhem behind them. Get into pick-up mode and focus on the thoroughfares: entries, exits, drop zones and counters. Grab the debris and put it away....as quickly as you can! Let the storm blow over and get back to calmer weather.
Do you have a "tornado alley" at your house? Where is it and what kind of debris are you cleaning up today?
