My husband Tom looked up from the comprehensive To Do list that we had just finished discussing. It was a formidible list, to say the least.
"....aaaand that should about do it," he said with a smile.
"Wow. Do you think we can get all that done in the month of March?" I pictured the prospect of cleaning out our storage areas in the barn and the "Bunny Hutch," as we call it, and knew it would take a huge effort.
"Probably not," he replied. "But I've looked at the projects we've got coming up in our business and I think we'll finally have the time to do tackle those projects that we've been putting off for years now."
Then he gave me a sideways grin. "I like to call my little plan: "March Madness."
"Good one!" I said, rolling my eyes. "You should coin that phrase."
We had a good chuckle over his "March Madness*" quip, but we've gotten excited about taking on a couple of those big tasks that we never seem to get around to. We've got boxes from when we moved here 9 years ago that got put into the tack room right off the moving truck and have never been touched since. Yes, I'd say it's about time.
The start of a new month is a great time to think about bringing a few projects from the back burner to the front burner. Is there something you've been putting off for awhile now that could be part of your own "March Madness?"
Today's Small Thing is to join me in March Madness - Home Sanctuary style! Pick one project you'd like to get done...and then give yourself 31 days to finish it!
Let's make this fun: share your mad project here and let's encourage each other throughout the month to get it done. We can post progress photos and updates if you like - maybe some "before and afters" to make it a game! Whadaya say??
I'll start: my project will be: organizing our gigantic pile of stuff in the tack room. I will keep you updated with photos and posts so I'll be accountable to my Company Girls. I'll tell ya right now it ain't gonna be pretty but it's going to feel great when it's DONE.
