Don't judge me.
Here's my main "March Madness" project: the Tack Room storage.
HORR-ible. And that's the "good" side. You can see that at one point everything was neatly stored in numbered boxes around the perimeter of this 9 x 12 room. But as time has gone on, the Christmas bins and work equipment and materials (not to mention wedding stuff) have gotten crammed into the center so there is no longer room to walk in there. Ugh. It's depressing to even look at it.
Do NOT tell Tom I posted this photo or he will kill me. But in the spirit of togetherness, I am baring my mess so you can (a) encourage me when I feel like quitting and (b) do a happy dance with me when it is all done.
Now, if you would like to join me in my madness by tackling your own crazy project, let me know in the comments today. Then, if you're brave enough to shoot me an email with a photo, I'll post the participants' projects on Monday. If you're a blogger, I'll link to you throughout the month as you make progress so you can get the same encouragement and happy dances I'm hoping for!
Small sidenote: I sat down to make a blog button for our challenge and quickly realized that "March Madness" is trademarked by the NCAA and unusable in a logo or design. So if you'll give me the weekend I'll try to have it for you on Monday.
Today's Small Thing is to (if you haven't already) DECIDE on a project to do, whether you "formally" participate in the challenge or not.
Here's what's amazing. Today I accomplished two small projects on my Big List and they only took a few minutes apiece. Somehow, being in the spirit of project madness made it feel so EASY, dadgummit! I installed hardware on a dresser and made a headboard for my son's bed out of an old barn gate we had laying around. Why did I put them off for so long?
Here's a quick phone picture of the drawer pulls. I {heart} them! Really sparkley ones on the top row, and glass knobs on the lower drawers.
I'll take a "real" photo of the headboard and post it another time. For now, the joy of crossing two things off my list is giving me just the momentum I need to keep me from taking a nap instead of tackling something else on my list.
How about you? Have you been thinking about commiting to completing a project this month? Seriously, it CAN'T be any bigger or worse than mine, can it? Join me in getting it done!
Now. Coffee time! It's the world's easiest blog meme in existence. Simply link up for a "virtual" cup of coffee with friends. I swooped into several blogs last weekend but wasn't able to comment in the few minutes I had. These ladies are GREAT and I hope you'll take the opportunity to stop in to one or two new ones to say hi!
