The view from my front door.
We've had record-breaking snow in the Dallas area so I am enjoying a winter wonderland! If you read my previous post (from my phone) you already know we've been without power since last night. It is finally on so I am quickly getting our coffee time posted so we can still visit over the weekend!
My husband and son have made a sliding route down the old driveway (how old are they??) and are busy having fun in the snow. The last time there was enough snow to slide on was 7 years ago...Gray was 9 years old. Now he is almost a man! It truly does seem like yesterday.
I know our 14 inches seems like a tiny amount compared to much of the US and Canada's numbers! I hope everyone has managed to stay warm and enjoy a "forced" cabin party indoors. For me, the snow has been an amazing reminder of my smallness and God's bigness. The beauty, and even the danger, make me realize how *not* in control I am...and makes me grateful for a warm home and food in the pantry. Not everyone can say that, and it is humbling to think of the blessings I take for granted.
Who would guess that a couple of candles could boil water for coffee? Don't worry, I will always figure out a way to get my morning brew.
How about you? Are you buried under snow, or have you escaped unscathed? Link up for coffee below and we can chat about the weather and whatever else comes to mind! If you are new to Home Sanctuary, every Friday we have "Company Girl Coffee," a chance to invite people over to your blog or chat within the comment section. It's a simple and easy way to get to know other women and let others get to know YOU! Don't be shy....introduce yourself by linking (or commenting)!
