Just give the Small Things a try and see what happens. I guarantee that you'll start experiencing Sanctuary at home.....one little bit at a time!
Now, on to today's task: Stragglers.
Straggler, definition:
1. One who straggles, or departs from the direct or proper course, or from the company to which he belongs; one who falls behind the rest; one who rambles without any settled direction.
2. A roving vagabond.
3. Something that shoots, or spreads out, beyond the rest, or too far; an exuberant growth.
Let thy hand supply the pruning knife,
And crop luxuriant stragglers.
4. Something that stands alone or by itself
After a weekend of hockey games, which came after a crazy week of work and other activities, I've noticed a few stragglers roaming around my house.
The lone socks on top of the dryer.
The Christmas ornaments that didn't make it into the boxes.
The vagabond shoes on the steps.
The lazy earrings on the coffee table.
Canned goods on the counter, which never mosied along to the pantry with the rest of the herd.
Renegade bills that escaped the corral for a life of danger among the junk mail.
The exuberant ribbon and wrapping paper that shot out of my gift center like a bat out of, well, you know.
I think I hear the faint moo-ing of those wily stragglers that need to be rounded up and brought in before they hurt themselves.
Do you have some stragglers at your house? They're the items that escaped the group herd and headed off for excitement in other parts. They might give you a bit of trouble as you rope them in, but stay with 'em. Eventually, they'll give up and head for home if you make them.
POINTS: 40 for rounding up at least two straggling items.
What are the stragglers at your house?
