Why is it that each week I ask, "Where did THIS week go??" Do you find yourself asking it too?
The highlight of my week was going to watch our daughter perform "Carmina Burana" with a 200 voice choir and the Dallas Wind Symphony at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. Fabulous!
Meghan had to pull a few strings to get to sing with this particular choir, but she wanted to do this piece so badly that she made a lot a sacrifices to do it. At one point I questioned her sanity and asked if she should quit...after all, it wasn't REQUIRED of her and she had so much going on.
She stopped in her tracks and turned to face me. "Mom. Carmina Burana. Come on."
Right. What was I thinking? Silly me.
You can hear the most famous part of this piece on my playlist today. The performance was larger than life, just awesome.
Another highlight was a little less fancy, but tugged on my heartstrings too.
I got to sit and watch our son play hockey with my husband right next to me for the first time ever! You see, he has always been our son's coach and has been over on the bench opposite the stands since Gray was 6 years old! This year is the first year that Gray has another coach (since he made Varsity!) and I've got to tell you, it was quite fun to watch him while sitting next to my man! Plus he was warm so I got to lean in and stave off the cold. I didn't realize how handy he'd be.
