I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We enjoyed having everyone over to our house on Thursday, and thankfully, the weather was nice enough for the kids to play outside for much of the afternoon. Flash made a great conversation piece, and behaved himself quite well for the onlookers. We have much to be thankful for and it was a great day.
If you participated in the Small Things in November, today is the day to count up your points and turn in the tallies!
Are you still wondering what the prize is for the Most Points? Well, wonder no more!
Remember I told you the story about the Box Job? I carried around a scribbled note that kept me going during those hard days.
It was a seed of the idea of "sanctuary" that I looked at, day after day. It helped me make sense of what I was doing in that warehouse with all that cardboard and hot glue. It helped me make sense of the endless laundry and the noses that needed wiping and the plates that needed filling. That note is still tacked up by my desk, a reminder that God is still working in my life...still creating a masterpiece. He is still making something beautiful out of the mess that I bring Him every day.
He gave me a word back then that has become my theme and my passion. "Sanctuary" has changed the way I think about my home and my family.
It's given me a goal and a hope. It inspires me to keep taking baby steps toward making my home a place of refuge for my family.
This month's Most Points prize is a canvas print of the words I wrote that day so long ago:
This canvas is 12 x 24, just the right size for almost any location, and I've made it in soft, sepia colors so it will go with any decor. I hope you will love having this in your home.
The Random Drawing Prize is open to anyone who participated in the Small Things, regardless of points. If you only did one or two things, that's enough to enter your name into the drawing. It is a signed copy of Forgiveness, by Nancy Leigh DeMoss.
Today's Small Thing is a two-step process.
1. Email your point totals to me privately. Click on the link just below my picture in the upper left corner.
2. Leave a comment, letting us know what your favorite Small Thing was this month! I really love this part, because it encourages readers who are just sitting on the fence to go ahead and take the plunge to get started with the Small Things!
POINTS: 30, good toward November's total.
I will announce the winners tomorrow, as well as prizes for December!
P.S. Many of you are asking if I will be continuing with the Small Things in 2009. Several have emailed, asking if they are too late to sign up.
The answer is YES, I will be continuing next year, and NO, it's not too late! I will be posting more about my plans for next year, so please stay tuned. I'm excited about what is in store!
